Belton School District Stadium
The Belton School District proposed construction of a new athletic stadium on top of a jurisdictional intermittent tributary. As proposed, the plan would have impacted approximately 4,625 linear feet of intermittent stream and would have needed 17,205 mitigation credits based on the Missouri Stream Mitigation Method. At the current rate of $35 per credit, this project would have cost $602,175 through an in-lieu fee program. This plan would also have needed an individual permit that would have taken approximately six months or more to acquire.
Adaptive Ecosystems performed a jurisdictional determination report and advised the client to redesign the athletic complex proposed parking lot. Adaptive Ecosystems met with the project owner and engineers and took a hands-on approach to assist with design. Through the combined efforts of the team, the final design does not require mitigation, and the final design impacts only 250 l.f. of stream. Furthermore, an individual permit was not needed; the project was permitted under a nationwide permit in just over two months from Adaptive Ecosystems' notice to proceed.
